Nepal registered yet another big victory in their ICC U-19 World Cup Division 1 Qualifier for Asia Regin hammering Gurugram Sports Club by 249 runs on Wednesday.
Opener Sandeep Sunar and Adil Khan starred with the bat, while Pawan Sarraf produced an allround display as Nepal posted a mammoth 338-9 from 50 overs before stopping Gurugram innings at 89 all out in 29.1 overs.
After the local batsmen failed to cope with Nepali spin show, they lost wickets regularly before getting folded for a double figure total. Pawan took 4-18 from six overs, while Rohit Kumar Paudel and Bikram Bhushal also picked up two wickets each.
Pratap Singh top scored with a 35-ball 28 hitting five boundaries, while Aaksh Sisodhiya (18), Vivek Rai (15) and Arvind Kumar (11) were the only remaining batsmen to score in double figures.
Earlier opener Aasif Sheikh (one) failed once again but Sandeep and Aadil lifted the innings with a 75-run second wicket partnership. Sandeep made 58 off 47 with seven fours and a six. New men Rohit Kumar Paudel (four) and Prakash KC (12) didn’t do much but Aadil went on to add another 75 runs for the fourth wicket with Dipendra Singh Airee before losing his wicket.
Aadil made 75 off 10 balls hitting two sixes and as many boundaries. Dipendra soon fell for 48 off 57 striking five hits to the fence. Pawan and Pranit Thapa Magar then accelerated the innings with a 61-run partnership for the seventh wicket.
Pranit made 28 from 23 balls with four boundaries but It was Pawan who stole the show smashing four sixes and three boundaries in his 22-ball 47. Manish Rai, Himanshu Hari, Shishpal Singh and Pratap Singh took two wickets each for Gurugram.
