The ICC World Twenty20 participating national team on Thursday got cash rewards for their impressive performance in Bangladesh. While every member of the team along with coach Pubudu Dassanayake, assistant coach Jagat Tamatta, physiotherapist SV Subra and technical analyst Raman Shiwakoti received Rs 500,000 each, team officials got Rs 300,000.
Team manager Uttam Karmacharya, coordinator Kiran Rana and media manager Sanjeev Pandey were among the officials promised for the cash rewards. CAN Member Kiran Rana couldn’t attend the programme because of the graft charges.
Rana was among the 10 CAN officials against whom the CIAA, corruption watchdog of the country, have filed graft charges over the alleged irregularity of Rs 14.3 million in the construction of the Mulpani Cricket Stadium.
Nepal had put on an influential display in the ICC World Twenty20 in March winning two of their Qualifying Stage matches and losing to hosts Bangladesh. Nepal had defeated Afghanistan for the first time in Twenty20 format which was also their first victory in a decade.
