After Som Pal Kami jumped to the side from the squad for ACC U-19 Asia Cup, three players will battle it out for the last available spot.
Hari Shankar Sah, Rahul Pratap Singh and Sushan Bhari Shrestha along with Dilip Nath have been kept reseveres but after the latter left the camp, it opened the chances for the remaining three, informed coach Jung Bahadur Thapa.
“Dilip was not fully fit and he had some personal reasons as well. We are now left to complete the job picking up any from the three of the boys available,” said Thapa hinting he might need a spinner for the track in UAE.
Bhairahawa left-armer Sushan Bhari Shresha is the only spinner in the team, while both Hari Shankar and Rahul Pratap are medium pace batting allrounders.
The current team has medium pacers in Ram Naresh Giri, Yagya Man Kumal and left arm seamer Lalit Singh Bhandari.
With the U-19 Asia Cup still 18 days away, Thapa said the selection committee will wait for the final call.
The U-19 teams are expecting to play few practice matches against the senior national team and the final call could be expected by December 18.
