National team cricketer Karan KC made a whirlwind century as Dhaulagiri Cricket Club (DCC) ‘A’ hammered Baglung Cricket Club (BCC) ‘A’ by 102 runs to win the title of Hari Bahadur Khadka Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament in Baglung .
At the Bangechaur grounds, Karan clobbered 15 sixes and 11 boundaries on his way to making 62-ball 148 lifting his side to a mammoth 238-4. Baglung, in reply, were 136 all out in 18.1 overs.
Anil Gurung and Rijan Prajoo top scored for the losing side with 42 runs each. Anil hit three sixes and as many fours in his 29-ball innings, while Rijan stroked five fours and two sixes. Santosh Shrestha, Manoj Khadka and Kamal Rijal picked up two wickets each for the winners.
Earlier, apart from Karan Deepak Kunwar chipped in a 13-ball 32 with six boundaries and a maximum. Shiva GC contributed 25 off 18 hitting three sixes. Sanjay Panta picked up 2-45 from four overs for BCC.
Champions DCC pocketed a cash purse of Rs 55,555 with the runners-up taking 33,333. KC was adjudged the man-of-the-series, Shiva took the best batsman’s honour and Pawan Hamal of Baglung Challenging Team was named best bowler.
