West Indies has won their first One Day International of the five matches ODI series against India by a huge margin of 124 runs in the match held at Nehru Stadium in Kochi. With this win West Indies lead the five match ODI series by 1-0.
West Indies losing the toss and batting first made a mammoth score of 321 runs losing their six wickers with the help of Maroln Samuels century.
Samuels who was awarded with man of the match award made not out 126 runs in 116 balls with 11 fours and four sixes. Likewise wicket keeper batsman Dinesh Ramdin also made 61 runs in 59 balls.
Mohammad Sami was the highest wicket taker for India who took four wickets.
Chasing the huge target of 322 runs in fifty overs India was bundled for 197 runs in 41 overs. Shikhar Dhawas was the highest run scorer who made 68 runs while Ravindra Jadeja contributed not out 33 runs.
Now India and West Indies will meet for the second One Day International on October 11, Saturday at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.
