Virat Kohli of India has equalized the record of being the fastest player to score 5,000 runs set by Viv Richards.
Kohli who scored 86 for India during the first ODI against West Indies in Kochi reached the landmark in 114th innings, the same as Richards.
“I am really happy to equalized the record set by legendary batsman Richards. But I think he is a great batsman and I have a long way to go. I can not be compared with Richards,” said Kohli speaking with media when asked about his feeling when he equalized with Richards.
Kohli further added, “I was told about the record in the last ODI against Australia. I do not approach the game thinking about records. I just want to play my normal game, put runs on board and help my team win the match.”
“I am just 25 years old and still there is a long way to go for me in my cricket carrier. It is nice to equal record of Richard but it does not stop here,” described Kohli.
