USA leave Nepal with a mountain to climb

Nepal have been set a huge target of 367 runs in their first match of the ICC World Cricket League Division-III match against the USA after a breathtaking 162 run innings from opener Steven Taylor and some late fireworks from Timroy Allen at Somerset Cricket Club grounds in Bermuda.19-year old Taylor smashed 12 sixes and 12 boundaries in just 102 balls as USA piled on a mammoth total against a team that had defeated them twice during the ICC World Cricket League Division-IV in Malaysia last year.Taylor began his onslaught early in the innings and shared 125 runs in just 17.2 overs for the first wicket with Orlando Baker.Basanta Regmi gave the much-needed breakthrough to Nepal dismissing Baker for 37 off 56. Taylor, however, continued to play with aggression and reached his century off just 61 balls with a boundary of Nepal skipper Paras Khadka. He shared another 74 runs with Sushil Nadkarni before SanjamRegmi got rid of him caught by Basanta. Nadkarni made 28 off 36 and just when Nepal thought they will now contain USA, Allen began to move his feet. After staying calm at the wicket, Allen went on to hammered an unbeaten 67 off just 34 deliveries. Allen hit six sixes and four boundaries, while another unbeaten batsman Neill McGarrell made 22 off 27 in their partnership off 93 runs from the last 59 balls.Basanta took 2-46 for Nepal to end up as the most economical bowler.Amrit Bhattarai and Shakti Gauchan also took one wicket each. Shakti was the most expensive Nepal bowler finishing with the figures of 81-1in just nine overs.
