The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has postponed U-16 National Cricket Tournament for an indefinite period.
CAN has already completed the selection tournaments in every region but decided to postpone it for an indefinite period stating tehcnial reasons. The tournament was scheduled to begin from Wednesday.
“We had planned to organise this tournament earlier because of SLC and plus two exams. But because of some technical problems, this tournament has been postponed and will now be held after the SLC and plus two exams,” national daily Annapurna Post quoted CAN General Secretary Ashok Nath Pyakurel as saying.
The national U-16 team is participating in the ACC U-16 Premiere Cricket Tournament for which it is holding the national tournament.
“Since there are still six months left for the even to begin in Malaysia from August 17, CAN is not in the mood to hasten the selection process,” said a CAN source.
