Opener Sudheer Chaudhary smashed an unbeaten century as Srijananagar Cricket Club (SCC) defeated New Vision Cricket Club by 55 runs in the Kathmandu Cricket League at the Tundikhel grounds on Wednesday.
Man-of-the-match Sudheer was the hero of the day who smashed first century of the tournament making 110 off 115 balls lifting SCC to 234-2 in 40 overs. Kritish Uprety and Basant Shah did the rest sharing seven wickets them as New Vision innings shut down at 179-9 in 40.
SCC were 38-1 when they lost opener Ravi Shah for 12. Sudheer then shared a magnificent 123 run stand for the second wicket with Purushottam Jha to build on a huge total.
Jha was out for 63 off 77 with six boundaries before losing his wicket to Ram Chaudhary. Sudheer, however, continued to play his shots and combined for another unbeaten 73-run partnership with Monty Nayabha to kick New Vision virtually out of the game.
Sudheer’s innings included 11 boundaries, while Monty made a run-a-ball 17 with one boundary.
With a mountain to climb, New Vision were down and out when four wickets from Kritish and two from Basant reduced them to 78-6. Puspan Kumar GC and Bibhut Karki pushed saved the humiliation with a 58-run partnership for the seventh wicket.
Bibhut made 37 off 52 with four boundaries before losing his wicket to Sudheer. Puspan was next to go off Basanta after making 30 off 52 with two boundaries. Ram made 23 not out from 12 balls hitting four fours. Kritish finished with the figures of 4-33 from eight overs.
