Thames International College has clinched the title of Thames Inter College BIM Cup Cricket tournament organized by Thame International College held at Army Cricket Ground in Bhaktapur.
Thames defeated KCMIT in the finale by six runs to win the title. Chasing a target of 132 runs KCMIT were all out for 125 runs in 19.5 runs. Captain Binaya Karki of KCMIT made 50 runs before being run out from Aayush Kumar Das but could not take his team to victory.
Sanju Wosti of Thames who was rewarded with man of the match award took three wickets in 3.5 overs conceding 22 runs. Likewise Nikesh Shrestha contributed with two wickets, Srijal Prasai and Aayush Kumar Das had a scalp.
Earlier Thames could only manage to make 131 runs losing eight wickets in 20 overs after wining toss and batting first. Sudhan Pokhrel, came to bat at number eight made not out 25 runs while wicket keeper batsman was the highest run scorer for his team who made 28 runs in 19 balls with three sixes.
Birat Neupane of KCMIT took three wickets. Bishwor Bhurtel and Srijan Chand took two each and Rohit Shrestha had a scalp. Ayush Kumar Das of Thames International College who took six wickets in two innings with one five wicket haul was best bowler of the tournament. Binay Karki fo KCMIT who made 70 runs with one fifty and took two wickets was rewarded as best batsman of the tournament and player of the tournament.
