Darwin was also the top scorer for K&K making an 18-ball 21 with Anit Devkota (13) becoming their only other batsman to reach double figures.
The low scoring second quarter-final saw KCMIT get the better of People’s College by four runs. Three wickets each from Sandeep Poudel and Sandesh Bhurtel helped People’s bundle out KCMIT for 81 in 17.2 overs.
Only Amit Mandal managed to put some fight for People’s scoring a 27-ball 26 that included two boundaries and a six. Rabin Sharma also took two wickets for People’s.
Ranjeet Bhandari and Bishal Karki (11) had put People’s on track for victory with 33-run second wicket partnership but once the former was dismissed, the team began to crumble. Ranjeet made 16 from 26 balls with two boundaries.
Arjun Pant took 3-12 from four overs for KCMIT but it was man-of-the-match Amit Mandal who halted People’s march with miserly figures of 2-4 from 3.1 overs. Tajendra Rawal also picked up two wickets.
