Sri Lanka won the second ODI against Pakistan by two runs with two balls to spare played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on Friday. With the win Sri Lanka levels the five match ODI series by 1-1.
Chasing the target of 285 runs set by Pakistan, Sri Lanka was able to win the match in 49.4 overs with the loss of eight wickets.
Angelo Mathews, who played sensible inning, helped his team reach the target as he made 47 runs in 44 balls with two fours. Sri Lankan captain Mathews was awarded with man of the match for his inning.
Kumar Sangakara was the highest run scorer for Sri Lanka who built the foundation for the win. Sangakar made 58 runs for his team.
Earlier loosing the toss Pakistan bat at first and could manage to make 284 for four in 50 overs. Ahmed Shehzad was the highest run scorer for Pakistan who made 124 runs. Captain Misbah-ul-Haq also managed to make not out 59 runs while boom boom Afridi made quick fire 30 runs in 15 balls.
The third match of the series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday, December 22.
