Sri Lanka announced squad for India

Sri Lanka has announced the squad for the first three One Day International for their five ODI series against India.


Fast bowler Lasith Malinga has been dropped from the team because of ankle injury which needs surgery while wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Chandimal, Lahiru Thirimannne and spinner Rangana Herath has also been dropped from the team.


Sri Lanka has included an uncapped fast bowler Lahiru Gamage, wicket-keeper batsman Kusal Perera and Niroshan Dickwella along with left arm all rounder Chaturanga de Silva.


Sri Lanka is playing five ODI series against India in India as a invitation from the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) after West Indies skipped their tour of India in the middle without playing the fifth and final ODI along with one off T20 international and three test match series.


Squad: Angelo Mathews (captain), Kumar Sangakkara (wicket keeper), Mahela Jayawardene, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Upul Tharanga, Kusal Perera, Ashan Priyanjan, Niroshan Dickwella, Thisara Perera, Nuwan Kulasekara, Dhammika Prasad, Lahiru Gamage, Chaturanga de Silva, Seekuge Prasanna, Suraj Randiv.
