Sound Image Cricket Club of Lucknow, India entered final of the first Gautam Buddha International Cricket Tournament with a crushing 80-run victory over Dhangadhi Cricket Academy (DCA) at the Shree Buddha Padma grounds here on Saturday.
Put in to bat, Sound Image made 113-8 in 20 overs with Karan Singh doing the bulk of scoring. Mohammad Adhiraj then picked up four wickets as DCA were bundled out for a paltry total of 33 in 10.5 overs. Sound Image will now meet Tribhuvan Army Club in Sunday’s final.
Adhiraj removed the top four DCA batsmen to leave the local side down and out. Satyendra Thapa (five) top scored in DCA’s sorry looking batting card that read five duck outs, while three batsmen were dismissed for just one run.
Adhiraj returned with the figures of 4-6 from four overs. Sing also starred with the ball picking up 3-4 from 1.5 overs. Manish Yadav also had two scalps. DCA collected 15 runs from extras.
Earlier, Sound Image lost their first five batsmen for just 47 runs where opener Mayank Yadav contributed 16 off 17 with one hit over the fence. Singh then pushed the team beyond triple figures sharing a 51-run partnership with Raman Pal. Singh remained unbeaten on 40 off 38 with one six, while Pal made 21 from 22 with two boundaries.
Other Sound Image batsmen failed to make runs in double figures. Faiz Ahmed was the pick of the DCA bowlers with 4-18 with Monu Paswan and Vineet Singh picking up two wickets each.
