Nepal’s second three-day game in Sri Lanka got ruined in the opening day due to rain but the improving performance from Sompal Kami has once again stolen everyone’s heart.

In the first day of their match against Sri Lanka Combined XI where only 34 overs were possible and rain washed out rest of the day after lunch, Sompal picked up three wickets leaving the hosts reeling at 101-5.
Sompal picked up wickets in alternate overs – fifth, seventh and ninth – reducing the local side to 25-3. He accounted for the wickets of R Dharmashri (11), Laxita Madumal (one) and Chathuranga Jayathilake (two).
Som Pal had also performed superbly when he picked up eight wickets from two innings in Nepal’s first three-day game against Kurunegala Combined-XI. Karan KC and Amrit Bhattarai added more salt to Sri Lanka Combined-XI wound with the wickets of Lihuru Madhusanka (nine) and opener J Sanjeewan (11) reducing the hosts to 47-5.
If the first 18 overs belonged to Nepal, the Sri Lanka Combined-XI fought back when Lihuru Jayaratne and H Gunathilake (15) added an unbeaten 54-run stand before rain washed out the day. Jayaratne is unbeaten on 39 from 58 balls with nine hits to the fence.
