Smith new test Captain of Australia

Steve Smith has been appointed as the new test captain of Australian Cricket Team ahead of their second test match against India starting on Wednesday at the Gabba.


Smith will be the 45th test captain of Australian cricket team. He was choose ahead of vice-captain Brad Haddin who was expected to take the charge after their regular captain Michael Clarke has been ruled out of the team as he tore right hamstring during the final day of first test match held at Adelaide.


Smith will be the third youngest captain to lead Australian test team. According to information provided by Australian Cricket Board Smith will be deputy of Michael Clarke if he returns back to the Australian team in near future after recovering from hamstring injury. 


Smith has been in a great form and had scored 162 not out in the first inning and 52 not out in the second inning of first test match against India.
