Smith in South Africa team

South Africa Test captain Graeme Smith returns to both the Proteas’ Test and ODI squads for the series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates next month.


South Africian test captain Grame Smith has be given back his job for the tour of UAE against Pakistan. Pakistan and South Africa will be playing two tests, five ODIs and two T20s at UAE.


Smith has been given his place in both Test team and One Day International team.


Smith has been out of cricket for last few months after undergoing ankle surgery. He is expected to be fit till the tour which starts from October 8 with a 3 day match.


Along with Smith, Dale Steyn, Imran Tahir, Wayne Parnell and Vernon Philander have also been given a place in ODI squad. But veteran batsman Jacques Kallis just got place in test not in ODIs again.


Test squad: Graeme Smith, Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Faf du Plessis, Dean Elgar, Imran Tahir, Jacques Kallis, Rory Kleinveldt, Morne Morkel, Alviro Petersen, Robin Peterson, Vernon Philander, Dale Steyn, Thami Tsolekile.


ODI squad: AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock, JP Duminy, Faf du Plessis, Imran Tahir, Ryan McLaren, David Miller, Morne Morkel, Wayne Parnell, Robin Peterson, Vernon Philander, Graeme Smith, Dale Steyn, Lonwabo Tsotsobe.


The T20 squad will only be announced after the Champions League T20 in India which starts from 17th September with qualifiers.
