Sipradi claim Century Bank Super Sixes title

Sipradi Group registered a slim 10-run victory over Nabil Bank to claim the title of the Century Bank Corporate Super Sixes on Wednesday.

Electing to field first at the Tribhuvan University Stadium grounds, Nabil allowed Sipradi to reach 79-3 in five overs. Nabil reached 69-4 in reply where Amit Pokhrel returned to smash 13-ball 40 not out but to no avail.

Shailendra Nepali top scored with an 11-ball 31 not out for Sipradi, while Dipesh Shrestha chipped in 19 off 10. Shailendra, the player-of-the-series, smashed three sixes and three boundaries, while Dipesh hit one six and a four.

Shawant Sijapati was unbeaten on 16 off seven with two sixes. Bishal Thapa picked up one wicket for Nabil.

Amit was the only batsman to watch out for Sipradi who hammered three sixes and four boundaries. Bhuwan Shrestha made 12-ball 17 with two sixes.

Chiran Thapa took 3-8 from one over. In the semi-finals, Nabil had defeated Century by six wickets. Century made 64-2 before Nabil reached 66-0 in 4.4 overs. Sipradi, meanwhile, edged ICFC Finance by two runs with Sanjog Sharma’s 19-ball 37 not out going in vain.

The title triumph meant Sipradi earned a free ticket to next year’s tournament. Shailendra, who scored 140 runs in the tournament, walked away with a 24″ LED TV.

Amit won the best batsman’s award for making 145 runs and with 13 hits over the fence. National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshav Bista, Century Bank CEO Anuj Mani Timalsina handed over the prizes to the winners. A total of 18 teams had participated in the league-cum-knockout tournament organised by SS Events.
