Jagdamba Giants crushed Paras Khadka’s Vishal Warriors by six wickets for their second victory in third match in the match held at Kanchanpur Cricket Ground on Sunday.
With the win Giants jumped to the second spot with four points from three matches and trail leaders Sharad Vesawkar-led Panchakanya Tez on net run rate. Tez have played one game less.
At the covered hall grounds in Kanchanpur, Warriors were kept contained by Giants bowlers. Haseem Ansari then replied with a cool half century as Giants reached 139-4 in 34.3 overs.
Haseem smashed four boundaries and two sixes in his 54-ball 50. Prem Tamang and Som Pal Kami took Giants across the finishing line with an unbeaten half century stand. Prem made 39 off 55 with five boundaries and Som Pal chipped in 25 off 48 with three hits to the fence. Yagyaman Kumal, Sushan Bhari Shrestha and Paras took one wicket each for Warriors.
Earlier, Warriors made just 138 runs in 50 overs with the loss of eight wickets. Suraj Kurmi made a pain staking 38 off 114 balls for Warriors. Paras made 22 off 55 with two fours, while Manjeet Shrestha (19) and Yagyaman Kumal (14) was the only remaining batsman to make in double figures.
Skipper Shakti Gauchan returned with enviable figures of 3-15 from 10 overs and man-of-the-match Som Pal took 2-20 from his 10. Shuvankar Sanyasi (2-31) and Gaurav Singh (2-47) also shared four wickets between them
