Shakti, Dilip return as Sushil faces axe

Veteran left arm spinner Shakti Gauchan and wicketkeeper batsman Dilip Nath returned as spinner Sushil Kandel faced omission from the national team for the ICC World Cricket League Championship seventh and final round matches against the United Arab Emirates.
Nepal, out from the contention of automatic qualification for the 2018 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers, are taking on UAE on December 6 and 8. Sushil was named in the national squad that played Hong Kong in the sixth round but didn’t get a chance to debut.
It was another left armer Sushan Bhari Shrestha who had earned himself a debut in the first match against Hong Kong and took the wicket of their former
skipper James Atkinson.
But with the return of Shakti, Sushan couldn’t manage to get back his place in the second round of 20 players for the closed-camp. Dilip had played for Nepal in the ACC Emerging Teams Cup in Bangladesh.
Paras Khadka will lead the Nepali side that also includes Gyanendra Malla, Basanta Regmi, Sharad Vesawkar, Binod Bhandari, Sagar Pun, Sompal Kami, Aarif Sheikh, Sandeep Lamichhane, Dipendra Singh Airee, Karan KC and Lalit Singh Bhandari.
Lalit was also named for Hong Kong matches but didn’t play a single game. Kushal Bhurtel, Anil Kumar Sah, Jitendra Mukhiya and Siddhant Lohani were kept reserves. Kushal and Anil will travel to UAE with the national team as reserves.
Nepal are also scheduled to play against the United States of America and Kenya on December 1 and 3 respectively ahead of the matches against UAE. Nepali team will leave for the Emirates on Wednesday.
