Sangakkara in 12k run scorer in test

Former Captain and middle order batsman of Sri Lanka team Kumar Sangakkara has become fifth batsman to score 12 thousands runs in test match cricket. Sagakkara was just five runs to join the cluster of 12 thousands run scorer in test match made not out 33 at the end of day one play against New Zealand to reach the mark.


After his not out 33 against New Zealand in the first inning at the end of day one Sangakkara has 12 thousands and 28 runs in his name from 130 test matches with an average of 58.38.  


37 years old Sangakkara has 37 centuries and 51 half centuries in his name. His highest score in test match is 319 runs which he scored against Bangladesh.


Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar leads the table with 15,921 runs from 200 test matches. Former Australian Captain Ricky Pointing is in the second position with 13,378 runs. South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis is in the third position with 12,289 runs while former Indian Captain Rahul Dravid who is also known as ‘The wall’ has 13,288 runs in his name.
