Former Captain and middle order batsman of Sri Lanka team Kumar Sangakkara who become fifth batsman to score 12 thousands runs in test match cricket on Saturday added yet another record in his name. Sagakkara now became the second highest double ton scorer in Test matches.
Sangakkara got the feat after he scored double hundred against New Zealand on second day of ongoing test match at Basub Reserve, Wellington. Sangakkar who scored 11th double century against New Zealand is in second position after the great Don Bradman to score double century in test match cricket. Bradman has 12 double ton in his name.
Sangakkara made 203 runs in 306 balls with 18 fours and 3 sixers before being caught by Trent Boult off Doug Bracewell on second day.
With the help of Sangakkara’s 203 runs Sri Lanka managed to make 356 runs in their first inning in response of New Zealand’s first inning total of 221 runs.
