Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane has joined Lahore Qalandars franchise in the Pakistan Super League. Sandeep left for the tournament on Saturday.
The six-team PSL is currently ongoing in Pakistan with Qalandars sitting third on net run rate as they are tied on four points apiece with Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi.
It will be second appearance for Sandeep in the last three editions of the tournament. He had played for the same franchise in 2018 edition which was held in the UAE beside the playoffs and final.
The entire tournament is now being played in Pakistan with the Pakistan Cricket Board also allowed limited number of spectators.
Sandeep will take the place of Afghanistan leg spinner Rashid Khan who has left the Qalandars squad citing personal reason. Sandeep was categorized in the Platinum Category of the PSL draft but had gone unsold.
Lahore play their next match against Karachi Kings on Sunday. Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans are two other teams in the tournament.
Sandeep was listed for the Indian Premier League auction in Chennai last week but went unsold. He will miss the IPL for the first time in four editions.
