Samsung ties up with Kathmandu for Nationals

Samsung smartphone has signed sponsorship with Region No 3 (Kathmandu) for the upcoming Pepsi Standard Chartered One Day National Cricket Tournament.

 

The sponsorship — which is planned around Rs 500,000 — will see Kathmandu players wearing Samsung smartphone logos in their jersey during the Nationals. Samsung smartphone will provide Kathmandu with two jerseys and a track-suit apart from match-fee for the tournament.

 

Each Kathmandu player will get Rs 500 for every match. Regional Cricket Development Committee Region No 3 Kathmandu Secretary Kiran Rana said though the match-fee is not a huge amount, it is nice step forward. 

 

“Though its a small amount, it hints towards a positive beginning,” said Rana. Samsung smartphone IMS GM Sanjeev Mishra said he is looking forward to giving continuity to the programme. 

 

“We have just begun from the scratch and look forward to give continuity to the sponsorship,” said Mishra during a programme on Tuesday.Kathmandu are drawn alongside Region No 4 (Bhairahawa), Region No 7 (Janakpur), Region No 1 (Biratnagar), Region No 5 (Nepalgunj) and Region No 9 (Kanchanpur).
