Ross Whiteley hit SIX SIXES in an over

Worcestershire’s Ross Whiteley hit SIX SIXES in an over in the
Natwest T20 Blast’s match against Yorkshire to register his name in the history
book on Sunday night.

He targeted Yorkshire’s left arm spinner Karl Carver for Six
Sixes during the 16th over of the Worcestershire’s inning, but fell for 65 runs
off 25 deliveries 17.6 over bowled by David Willey.

 

In the first inning, man of the match David Willey scored 118
runs who came to the crease when Yorkshire was 14 for 1. The famous six sixes
from 28 years Whiteley went in vain as Yorkshire beat Worcestershire by 37
runs.

 

Others to hit SIX SIXES in an over:

 

Sir Gary Sobers (County): West

Indies great Sir Garry Sobers was the first batsman to hit six
sixes in an over in first-class cricket, playing for Nottinghamshire. He struck
that famous over against Glamorgan’s Malcolm Nash in a County Championship
match in Swansea in 1968.

 

Ravi Shastri (Ranji):

India’s current head coach Ravi Shastri
was the 2nd to hit Six Sixes in an over in first class cricket, playing for
Bombay. He struck that 36 runs over against left-arm spinner Tilak Raj in a
Ranji Trophy Match between Bombay and Baroda in 1984.

 

Herschelle Gibbs (CWC): 

South Africa’s stylish batsman Gibbs was the first batsman to hit six
sixes in an over in 
International cricket. He did that against Netherlands’ Dan van
Bunge at 2007 World Cup in West Indies.

 

Yuvraj Singh (WT20): 

India’s cricket-cancer-cricket man Yuvraj
Singh was the first batsman to hit six sixes in an over in the shortest format
of the game. He did that

against England’s Stuart Broad in inaugural edition of World
Twenty20 cricket way back in 2007 in South Africa.

 

And now Whiteley has joined this exclusive club.
