Rising Cricket Women (RCW) edged Kailali District Cricket Academy (KDCA) by
17 runs to open their account in the Ruslan Attariya Cup Women’s Twenty20 on
Batting first, RCW made the most of their foreign players to pile up a
challenging 137-6 in 20 overs. They then restricted KDCA to 120-8 in 20 overs
denying a strong start from their openers.
Nitu Bhandari and Manju Bokati opened with a 48-run partnership for the
first wicket for KDCA. Manju made 20 off 26 balls with three boundaries. Nitu
went on to share another 36 runs with Kabita Kunwar to lead the chase but her
dismissal in the 13th over halted the proceedings.
Nitu scored 35 from 38 balls with five boundaries and Kabit was their
remaining batswoman to cross double figures scoring 17 off 14 with a four.
Shova Rokaya (nine) was the next best scorer.
Ashmina Karmacharya was the pick of the RCW bowlers taking 3-10 and Indian
Pooja Nimavat took 221 from four overs.
Earlier, player of the match Pooja and Bangladeshi cricketer Shahanaz
Prabin led the RCW innings with the former hitting a quickfire 11-ball 19 with
four boundaries. Parbin scored 20 runs from 31 with three boundaries and shared
45 runs for the second wicket with Laxmi Chaudhary.
Laxmi also made 20 from 21 balls with three hits to the fence. Skipper
Aarati Bidari guided her side to a challenging total making 22 not out from 20
balls with three fours and Shanti Khatiwada (11 not out) was their next best
Chadani Shah took two wickets for KDCA, while Suman Bist, Anjali Chand and
Laxmi Saud had one scalp apiece.
