Nepal’s upcoming cricketers Raju Rijal and Dipendra Singh Airee have been picked up for the upcoming MCC Young Cricket program which will be conducted by the Marylebone Cricket Club of Lord’s in England.
The four-month program will see both cricketers getting extensive training from specialized coaches while they will also be provided with match exposures in different formats of the game – three-day, 50-over and Twenty20 matches.
The program will be based at the Cricket Academy of Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. Current U-19 skipper Raju led the Nepali team that finished second in the ACC U-19 Premier that was held in Kuwait from December 9-16 last year. Dipendra played under Raju in the tournament.
The MCC Young Cricketers program offers training and match exposures to rising cricketers from the non-Test playing nations. Naresh Budhayer and Rajesh Pulami Magar had participated in the program previously in 2013 held from June 14 to July 26.
Naresh had extended his stay in England following the completion of program playing with two different clubs of UK for the Thames Valley Cricket League that ended on September 15. Rajesh returned soon after the completion of the program.
Raju is considered the next generation of Nepali batsmen whose technique was appreciated during the ACC U-19 Premier League in Kuwait, while with all round abilities, Dipendra is well known for his power-packed hitting.
