Public Youth Campus (PYC) successfully defended the title of PYC Inter-college TU BBA cricket tournament title with a crushing nine-wicket victory over KCMIT in a one-sided final at the Mulpani Cricket Ground on Friday.

Electing to bat first, KCMIT mustered a mediocre 110-4 in 20 overs after PYC bowlers bowled a discipline line. Naresh Thapa was the most effective giving away just nine runs in four overs while taking one wicket.
Sandesh Regmi and Diwash Bhattarai also took a wicket each. PYC took just 13.1 overs to reach 112-1 after Irshad Ali carried the bat with an enterprising 49 not out from 35 balls. He began with a 63-run partnership for the first wicket with Sandesh who chipped in a 27-ball 21 with two fours.
After Sandesh was bowled by Amrit Karki, Irshad added another 49 runs for the second wicket with Ranjan Prasain. Man-of-the-final Irshad hit seven fours and a six, while Ranjan contributed 17-ball 31 with his innings including five fours and a maximum.

After losing first wicket with just three runs on the board, Amit Marwaita and Amrit had consolidated the KCMIT innings with 59-run second wicket partnership. But in the process, the two set batsmen failed to provide the much-needed lift required for a defendable total.
Amit made a run-a-ball 37 with five hits to the fence, while Amrit hit a six and a four in his painstaking 48-ball 31. Amit Mandal scored a 17-ball 21 hitting three boundaries.
Sushant Singh Dunuwar, who had struck a 69-ball 140 in the semi-final, of PYC was adjudged the man-of-the-series and best batsman. He scored a total of 174 runs and took two wickets.
Sandesh was named the best bowler with 11 scalps.
