Prime Life Insurance Company on Friday honoured the national cricket team that won the ICC World Cricket League Division-III title with Rs 500,000.
Nepal had claimed the Division-III title in May 5 in Bermuda and qualified for the 2014 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifierfor January after reaching the final of the Division-III on May 4.
This is the first felicitation for the team by any corporate sector after Nepal landed in Kathmandu with the trophy on May 7. The government is also honouring the team with Rs 350,000 to each team members, while after the team landed in Kathmandu, UCPN-Maoists feted the team with Rs 25,000 per head.
The government is yet to honour the team with the announced cash rewards, while cricket governing body — the Cricket Association of Nepal — is also preparing to honour the national heroes. It has been learnt that the CAN is rewarding the cricketers with Rs 100,000 each.
