Poor batting continue against the Netherlands also

Nepal continued their poor form as they give the target of 172 runs to the Netherlands in the seventh place play off semi final of ICC World Cup Qualifiers in Mount Maunganui in Auckland on Sunday. 

 

Netherlands won the toss and elected to field first.

 

Nepal made just 171 runs in their 50 overs with the loss of nine wickets.

 

Sharad Vesawakar was the highest run scorer for Nepal who made 42 runs in 90 balls with a boundary.

 

Captain Paras Khadka made 29 for his team while number nine batsmen Shakti Gauchan made 26.

 

Once again opening batsman were not able to put some good partnership. Opener Pradeep Airee was first to be out who made just five runs while another opener Anil Mandal was out making seven runs in 43 balls.

 

Gyanendra Malla who came to bat at number three and Prithu Baskota who came at number five was out without opening their account.

 

Wicketkeeper batsman Binod Bhandari made 14 runs while Basant Regmi contributed 17 for Nepal.

 

Sagar Pun remained unbeaten making 12 while Som Pal did not open his account but remained unbeaten.
