Pokhara Cricket Academy registered their second consecutive
victory, while Syangja Criket Academy ‘A’ earned a narrow win in their
second match at the MCC Grounds in Pokhara on Sunday.
Pokhara piled up a tournament-high 188-7 to defeat Syangja
Cricket Academy ‘B’ by 163 runs. An erratic bowling from Syangja ‘B’
guided Pokhara to a massive total before bundling out the opponents for
25 runs in 13 overs.
Anish Khadka took 3-5 from
two overs, while Mekh Bahadur Sen and Nabin Karki had two scalps apiece.
Syangja ‘B’ highest score came through 15 extras.
Earlier, Syangja ‘B’ bowlers delivered a wayward bowling
conceding 52 extras including 42 wide deliveries. Ishan Shrestha top
scored for Pokhara with a 32 from 34 with four fours and a six, while
Mekh made 30 off just nine with four sixes and a four.
Prem Gurung (24), Sushant
Giri (22) and Amitesh Sharma (21) also contributed runs in double figures.
In a sorry looking Syangja ‘B’ bowling details, Saurav Adhikari was the
standout performer with the ball picking up 4-26 from four overs.
Syangja ‘A’, meanwhile,
struggled in a chase of 88 runs on their way to registering a slim
one-wicket victory over over Makawanpur Cricket Academy.
Makawanpur were folded for just 87 runs in 16.5 overs after
Asmit Subedi took 4-21 and Ram Bahadur Thapa snapped 3-15 from four
overs. While they got 25 extra runs as the highest run in the board,
Bishal Phuyal (14) and Himal Pun (14) were the only batsmen to reach
Syangja ‘A’ had a tipsy
turvy ride as they crawled to 88-9 in 19.1 overs. Janam Godar was the
leading scorer making 31 off 23, while Bishal BK made 15 runs. Asmit
(13) also made runs in double figures. Rajan Lama took 4-16 for
