PM Cup organizers honor coach Aryal

National cricket team’s former head coach Arun Aryal on Thursday was felicitated for his contribution to the game.

Aryal was honored with a  cash of Rs 25,000 during the presentation ceremony after the final of the Prime Minister Cup One Day National cricket tournament at the TU Stadium.

Aryal was the head coach of the Nepali national side during Nepal’s 3-day match against Singapore in 2005. He was handed over a letter of appreciation. Aryal was also the chief cricket coach under the National Sports Council and retired last February.

Renowned for the production of national team’s current stars like skipper Paras Khadka and middle order mainstay Sharad Vesawkar, Aryal also had lent his services to Everest College Cricket Academy and Baluwatar Cricket Academy.

In 2000 ACC Trophy Aryal was the assistant coach while he looked after the national women’s teams for the 2010 Guangzhou and 2014 Incheon Asian Games.
