Nepal’s Twenty20 history is short but the achievement is yet incredible. In its short history, two Nepali cricketers have managed to score half century in their debut match of ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers.
While skipper Paras Khadka is a likely entrant in this record when he smashed a scintillating half century during the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers, there is unlikely entrant too. Paras had scored 68 off 62 in handing Nepal a 28-run victory over Hong Kong.
Anil Mandal is the second player to score half century in World Twenty20 Qualifiers debut. Anil scored 50 off 49 in the match against Afghanistan during the 2012 edition. Anil’s innings, however, couldn’t be a better one after Nepal lost the match by 34 runs.
Anil is an unlikely entrant in the list because he is generally associated with 50-over or longer version of the game. Anil had found himself in the 2015 World Twenty20 Qualifiers squad, a tournament where he will get a chance to break all those stereotypes on him.
