Defending champions Pentagon College of Kathmandu will meet Mahendra Namuna HS School of Dadeldhura in the opening match of the Hotel Devotee SPA Cup Cricket Tournament on January 30.
The highest cash prize tournament in the history of Nepali cricket so far incorporates 16 teams who will vie for the quarter-final places after the knockout round. The quarter-finals will begin from February 3, while the semi-finals are on February 6 followed by the final next day.
On the second day, Xavier Int’l College of Kathmandu will take on Sunrise HS School of Kanchanpur and New Horizon College of Butwal will be up against Kailali Multiple Campus of Dhangadhi.
The champions of the tournament will get a cash purse of Rs 500,000 with the runners-up receiving Rs 200,000. Durga Laxmi Multiple Campus of Kailali, KFA College of Biratnagar, Holy Land HS School of Nepalgunj, Tikapur Multiple Campus of Accham, Sunshine College of Bhairahawa, Farwest University of Kanchanpur, SPA of Dhangadhi and Jagannath Campus of Baitadi are other teams participating.
