Peace Club entered the semi-finals of the Hyolmo Twenty20 Cup at the Tundikhel grounds on Friday while there was also victory for Himalayan Cricket Academy (HCA).
Peace Club defeated organisers Hyolmo United by 29 runs in the first quarter-final match of the tournament. Batting first, Peace Club made 116-7 with SK Thinle making 22 off 23, while Thupten Tashi contributed a run-a-ball 15. Prem took three wickets for the organisers.
Hyolmo United, in reply, were bundled out for 87 runs with three balls to spare. Nawang Jordan picked up two wickets for Peace Club. Arun top scored for Hyolmo with a 28-ball 17, while Prem Hyolmo scored 16 off 30 balls.
In the first match of the day, a half-century from Aarush Adhikari helped Hyolmo Brothers by 52 runs. Aarush made 52 off 42 to lift HCA to 133-7 in 20 overs before they sent Hyolmo Brothers packing for just 81 runs in 18.4 overs. Ram Krishna shaped HCA victory picking up four wickets in his four-over spell.
Rahul Hyolmo made 13 off 17, while other Hyolmo Brothers batsmen headed back without making runs in double figures. Earlier, Purushottam Jha was another notable contributor for HCA with a 25-ball 30. Pemba Hyolmo and Lobsang Hyolmo picked up three wickets each for Hyolmo Brothers.
