Lalitpur Patriots, one of the six franchises in the upcoming TVS Everest Premier League (EPL) Twenty20 cricket tournament, has tied up with Water Aid as a social partner.
Patriots will promote Water Aid’s latest campaign #PeriodPower throughout the EPL effectively from the day of signing of agreement. Water Aid is a UK-based charity dedicated exclusively to the provision of safe domestic water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world’s poorest and marginalized people.
The #PeriodPower gathers the momentum of advocating menstrual hygiene management. According to Water Aid, Lalitpur Patriots will be promoting and sensitizing Menstrual Hygiene. They will also disseminate the information to make people aware about menstrual hygiene through various programmes.
“Through this programme, we will manage to reach out a big mass because cricket is followed widely in Nepal and cricketers’ voice for menstrual hygiene will be heard by a lot of people,” said Water Aid Country Director Tripti Rai. According to Rai, Water Aid will invest around Rs 600,000 in the campaign during the EPL.
