Skipper Paras Khadka once again led from the front as Vishal Warriors registered a crucial seven-wicket victory over Jagdamba Rhinos in the Wai Wai Everest Premier League .
In a rain affected match, Rhinos were restricted to 110-6 in 16 overs after they resumed from 43-3 following more than 45 minutes of rain intervention. Given a revised target of 114, Warriors reached 117-3 with man-of-the-match Paras remaining unbeaten on 56.
The win put Warriors in the second spot with five points from three games as they fancy a spot in the title match. Paresh Lohani hit seamer Sompal Kami for three boundaries in the first over but Warriors saw themselves reduced to 23-2 in the third over.
Paras stepped in and together with Sagar Pun, shared an 85-run third wicket stand. Sagar was out for 23 off 26 hitting one boundary. Paras hit seven fours and two sixes in his 38-ball 56.
National team skipper had also slammed a 45-ball 99 against Sagarmatha Legends . Shah Alam picked up two wickets for Rhinos.
Earlier, Warriors were reduced to 43-3 after their top three batsmen failed to give a desired start. With rain intervening, Amit Shrestha and Prem Tamang upped the ante with seven overs remaing as Rhinos added 67 runs to their total.
Amit hit three sixes making 39 off 24 and Prem struck two boundaries in his 30-ball 26. Ramnaresh Giri picked up three wickets for Warriors who now play leaders Panchakanya Tez and Colors X-Factor in the remaining two games.
Rhinos must win their remaining two games against X-Factor and Sagarmatha Legends and hope Warriors and Gurkhas lose their two.
