Paras Khadka, captain of Nepali national cricket team has entered in ICC T20 rankings while left arm spinner Bashant Regmi becomes the first Nepali bowlers to get into ICC bowler’s ranking.
Khadka who was one and the only performer for Nepal with bat during recently concluded four match T20 series against Netherlands had scored 137 runs in four innings is currently in 64th position. Khadka who scored his maiden a half century in the last match against Dutch and helped Nepal to win the match by three wickets to end series 3-1 loss has 338 points.
Sharad Vesawkar who was in top 100 in ICC ranking in T20 Internationals after 2014 T20 World Cup held in Bangladesh is in 76th position. Vesawkar has 250 points but slipped five spot from earlier ranking. Vesawkar was in 81th position after World Cup.
Gyanendra Malla, middle order batsman and vice-captain of Nepali national cricket team also got a spot in ranking. Malla is in 86th position with 233 points. Malla scored 71 runs against Dutch in four matches.
Likewise left arm spinner Bashant Regmi becomes the first Nepali bowler to get inside top 100 of ICC bowler’s ranking. Regmi who took five wickets in four matches against Netherlands is in 83rd position with 342 rating points.
After four match bilateral series against Netherlands Nepal themselves got into ICC ranking for the first time on Sunday. According to rule of ICC any teams need to play at least eight matches to get into rankings. After eight matches Nepal has five lost and three wins and are in 15th position of ranking.
