Skipper Paras Khadka became the second Nepali batsman to score a half century which came in a historic Twenty20 International victory against the Netherlands at Hazelaarwag in Rotterdam on Friday.
Paras emulated wicket-keeper and opening batsman Subash Khakurel in slamming the first half century for Nepal Twenty20 Internationals. Subash’s half century was against Afghanisan during the ICC World Twenty20 held in Bangladesh last year.
Paras, who brought his 50 off 35 balls with six boundaries, was out for 54 runs. He narrowly missed on becoming Nepal’s highest individual scorer in Twenty20 Internationals. Subash’s holds the record with 56 runs.
Paras was also the leading scorer in the four-match Twenty20 International Series, which Nepal lost 1-3 to the Dutch, making 126 runs. Paras previous best in the Twenty20 Internationals was 45 which came in the first match of this series.
Paras had a fine series for Nepal scoring 45, 2, 36 and 54 in the series.
