Pappu Construction, Nabil Bank, Global IME Bank and Nepal Bank reached the knockout stages of the 15th Solatee Crowne Plaza Super Sixes on Saturday.
At the Tribhuvan University Stadium grounds, Pappu Construction defeated Morang Auto Works (MAW) by three wickets to win Group ‘A’ and Nabil followed them as runners-up. Pappu Construction made 74-4 before restricting MAW to 57-3.
Global IME defeated Nepal Bank by three wickets to go through as Group ‘B’ winners. Gautam Rai struck 29 off 17 as Nepal Bank made 64-3. Sharad Pokhrel answered with four boundaries and a six making 27 from nine that took Global IME to 65-3 with three balls to spare.
Also, KIST Bank cleaned up Nagarik Media by six wickets that also sent Sipradi Trading in the pre-quarterfinals as Group ‘C’ winners. Nagarik made 63-3 with an eight-ball 31-run blitz from Roshan Budhathoki that included four fours and two sixes.
Raju KC then smashed 31 not out off nine balls with three sixes and two fours as KIST finished at 67-0 from 3.5 overs. Likewise, Century Bank, ICFC Finance, Kantipur Media Group and NIC-Asia Bank reached last 16 from their respective groups.
Century Bank eased past ICFC Finance by 38 runs to win Group ‘D’, Kantipur dispatched NIC-Asia by 22 runs to enter the last 16 as Group ‘E’ winners. In other matches, Soaltee Crowne Plaza hammered Eastern Motors by 42 runs, Embassy of India crushed United Spirits by 61 runs and Standard Chartered Bank trounced Laxmi Bank by six wickets.
