Pakistan Women clinched gold in Asian Games

Pakistan Women clinched the gold medal of Asian Games Women’s category by four runs in D/L method against Bangladesh Women in the match held at Yeonhui Cricket Ground, Incheon, South Korea on Friday.


In the match Pakistan Women won the toss and elected to bat first. They made 97 runs losing their six wickets in 20 overs. Bismah Maroof who came to bat at number three was the highest run scorer for Pakistan who made 24 runs.


As the rain stopped play the match was reduced to seven over where Bangladesh was given the target of 43 runs. Chasing the target of 43 Bangladesh women was able to make just 38 runs in seven overs losing nine wickets.


Bangladesh inning was destroyed by Nida Dar and Sadia Yousuf who took two wickets each in just one over conceding two runs. Likewise captain Sana Mir also sent two batswomen to pavilion.
