Pakistan won the first test match against world no. 1 test team South Africa by seven wickets with one day still remaining in the match.This is South Africa’s first lost in two year and in their 15 test matches.
Pakistan chased the target of just 40 runs with the loss of three wickets after South Africa was all out for 232.
South Africa started the play of fourth day on 72 for four and was still 121 runs trail from Pakistan’s first inning score but was all out on 232.
AB de Villiers was the highest run scorer for South Africa who made 90 runs.
South African opening fast bowlers showed some good bowling by putting pressure on Pakistani batsman as they took first three wickets when there were just seven runs in the board in 3.3 overs.
But captain Misbah-ul-haq and veteran batsman Younis Khan took Pakistan to win the first test. Misbah made not out 28 while Younis made not out nine runs.
With this win Pakistan lead the two match test series by 1-0.
Khurram Manzoor who made 146 runs in Pakistan’s first inning was elected as Man-of-the-match.
The second and final test match will start from October 23 at Dubai.
