NZ finish four nil against India

New Zealand won the fifth and last One Day International (ODI) against India by 87 runs and clinched the five match series by 4-0 at Wellington on Friday.


India won the toss and elected to field first. New Zealand though started slowly made a huge score as former captain Ross Taylor made back to back century.


New Zealand made 302 runs in their fifty overs with losing five wickets. Taylor who had made century in the fourth ODI made yet another century to help his team make a huge score. Man of the match Taylor made 102 runs in 106 balls with ten fours and a six.


Kane Williamsom also contributed 88 runs in 91 balls. This was williamsom’s fifth back to back half century. Likewise James Neesham also made quick fire 34 from 19 balls.


Chasing the target of 303 runs India were all out in 49.4 overs making just 216 runs. Except from vice captain Birat Kohli and Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni not a single player contributed to take their team to victory. Inform batsman Kohli made 82 runs from 78 deliveries with seven four and three sixes. Likewise captain Dhoni also made 47 runs for India.


Matt Henry sent four players to pavilion conceding 38 runs in his ten overs while Kyle Mills and Kane Williamsom had two wickets each in their name.


Now New Zealand and India will play two test matches starting from February six.
