New Zealand won the second One Day International match against India by 15 runs in Duckworth Lewis rules and leads the five match series 2-0 at Hamilton on Wednesday.
Also with two loose in two matches India slipped down to number two in ICC ODI team ranking where Australia lead the ranking.
In the match which started after two hours because of rain India won the toss and elected to field first.
New Zealand made 271 runs in their allocated 42 overs with loss of seven wickets. Kane Williamson who was elected as man of the match later made 77 runs. Likewise Ross Taylor made 57 and Corey Anderson made quick fire 44 runs in just 17 balls.
Chasing the target of 293 in 41.3 overs India could only make 277 runs in their 41.3 overs with the loss of nine wickets.
Inform batsman Virat Kohli was the highest run scorer for India who made 78 runs while Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni made 56 runs and tried to take their team to victory but could not do it.
The third ODI between India and New Zealand will be held at Auckland on January 25.
