Nepal’s first Twenty20 called off

Nepal’s first Twenty20 International Series after the ICC World Twenty20 has been hit hard by rain and wet ground conditions as the first of the three-game tournament against Hong Kong has been called off due to rain.

The match was originally scheduled to begin at 10:15 AM Nepali time but following three-day of rain in Dambulla it was delayed due to wet ground conditions. The umpires prepared for a 12:15 PM inspection but soon the rain persisted and the match had to be called off.

However, it has not been clear whether the match has been pushed to reserved day or not. Nepal were scheduled to play three matches at the same venue with the second being on Nov 20 and third on Nov 22.

With a reserve day still available in the tournament, it could be possible that Nepal might get to play all three Twenty20 matches. In their last appearance in the ICC World Twenty20, Nepal had crushed Hong Kong by 80 runs.

Nepal hold a 4-2 edge in their six overall meeting in international cricket.
