Nepali women cricket team leaves for Asian Games

Nepali national women team flied to South Korea on Tuesday to participate in the upcoming Incheon Asian Games which will kick off from Friday, September 19.


Nepal which is in Group D along with Thailand and Malaysia hopes to bring medal home. Captain of the team Rubina Chhetri and Coach Arun Aryal expects to bring medals with good performance in the tournament.


“We have been training for nearly one and half month. We have tough challenge during the tournament as we have to face test-playing nations in the knockout stages from quarterfinal but we are determined to perform well. If we get succeed in our strategy than we can get home medal in Asian Games as it is nothing impossible in T20 cricket”, said Coach Arun Aryal.


Skipper Rubina Chhetri is also optimistic about performing well in the tournament and achieving favorable results. “We will play our natural game and will play with confidence against the test playing nations in the group stages. We will give 100 percent during tournament and will try bringing medal home.”


Nepal will play their first match of Incheon Asian Games on September 21 against Malaysia and will face Thailand the next day.
