Nepal ended their final preparation tour of India with a 68-run defeat at the hands of Noida XI in Greater Noida .
Riding on an unbeaten century from Indian Premier League and U-19 World Cup cricketer Tanmay Srivastava, Noida XI made 234-8 in 50 overs. Nepal managed just 166 all out in 42 overs after losing their last six wickets for just 25 runs.
Nepal had won their first three warm-up games before the fourth match against Noida XI was washed outdue to rain.
The team will now head to Singapore for the ICC U-19 World Cup Division 1 Asia Qualifier where they will meet Afghanistan, Singapore and Malaysia in the double round robin league. Only the table toppers after the league will book the 2018 U-19 World Cup tickets to New Zealand.
Tanmay held together Noida innings as the opener carried the bat to make 120 from 149 balls with seven boundaries and three sixes. Another opener Rahul Yadav made a swift scoring with a 22-ball 33 with five fours and a six as Noida reached 41 runs in nine overs.
Srivastav notched up the best partnership of the day with a 55-run stand for the fifth wicket with Nimit Shaini (17). Anureet Singh was the third best scorer for Noida with a 42-ball 28 that included three boundaries. Kishor Mahato and Pawan Sarraf picked up two wickets each for Nepal.
Nepal were 29-2 in the fifth over but opener Sandeep Sunar and Dipendra Singh Airee resisted with a 53-run partnership for the third wicket. Sandeep made 36 from 58 balls with four boundaries and a six. After Sandeep’s dismissal, Nepal counted on Airee but he was dismissed in the 31st over as the collapse ensued.
Dipendra, the most consistent batsman for Nepal in the camp, made 55 from 66 balls with two sixes and two boundaries. Wicketkeeper batsman Prakash KC scored 31 from 49 balls hitting two fours. Singh, Saini and Harshit Sethi picked up two wickets each for Noida.
