Nepal VS Namibia – Live Streaming

After taking a desired start in the ICC
World Twenty20 Qualifiers with a six-wicket victory over USA
 on Friday,
Nepal are taking on Namibia in their second Group ‘A’ match at the Civil
Service Cricket Club in Belfast, Nortern Ireland
 on Saturday.

Having also drawn against defending champions
Ireland, Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong and Jersey, the match against Namibia will
carry a huge significance to Nepal whose first target will be to beat three
teams and put their one-foot in the playoffs.

Namibia are not new opponents for Nepal, their
recent victory over the South African opponents in the ICC World Cricket League
Division-II match will provide them a huge confidence. But in a Twenty20
version where Nepali batsmen are running with a poor form, Namibia will be the
first toughest team Nepal would face in Group ‘A’.

Nepal have never played against Namibia in the
shorter version of the game and it is one of the facts that would keep both
sides in the dark about each other.

If Nepal want to get over the top of the
game, they need to get rid of Namibia’s experienced set of skipper Nicolaas
Scholtz, Bernard Scholtz, Raymon van Schoor and Craig Williams. Nicolaas is one
of the inest all-rounder in the Namibian squad along with his brother Bernard.

Nepal’s major concern will once again be the
opening order and the performance of right arm medium pacer Karan KC who bowled
two overs gainst the USA and was belted for 27 runs. Coach Pubudu Dassanayake benched
his highly-trusted Subash Khakurel against USA trying out a new combination of
Sagar Pun and Anil Mandal.

Sagar, though bowled a decent spell
picking up a wicket, once again failed to provide a good start to Nepal leaving
the crease with just six runs on the board. Anil, meanwhile, got invovled in a
record 78-run stand with Gyanendra Malla but his 42-ball innings of 29 runs included
just one boundary, not a good sign for a T20 batsman.

The biggest asset for Nepal will be the
touch that Gyanendra has been in for Nepal. Gyanendra has been in a fine touch
and he continued on Friday slamming his first every Twennty20 half century.
Dassanayke now would look to Sharad Vesawkar, Binod Bhandari and Pradeep Airee
to speak with the bat.

Dassanayake’s dilemma would be to choose
returning bowler Jitendra Mukhiya replacing expensive Karan who was also not at
his best in the recent series against the Netherlands that Nepal lost 3-1.
