Nepal to play India, Bangladesh in Asia Cup

Nepal were drawn alongside Test giants India and Bangladesh in the ACC U-19 Asia Cup that is beginning from November 10-19 in Malaysia.

Pitted in Group ‘A’, hosts Malaysia are the fourth team in the pool from where only the top two finishers make it to the semi-finals.

Group ‘B’ consists of Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and will be joined the winners from the ongoing ACC U-19 Western Region tournament. Malaysia are also hosting the Western Region tournament that concludes on November 7.

Nepal had qualified for the U-19 Asia Cup after they claimed the Western Region tournament – also in Malaysia – defeating Hong Kong on September 17.

Nepal will open their tournament campaign taking on Bangladesh on November 11 at the Kinrara Oval and play India the next day at the Bayuemas Oval. The final league match against Malaysia will be played at the Bayuemas on November 14.

The Nepali team, which is led by Dipendra Singh Airee, is currently undergoing Asia Cup preparations in Bangladesh where they will play three friendly matches against the youth team of the hosts.
