Nepal will face Denmark in their tournament opener of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier at the Global Cricket Academy (GCA) 2 at the United Arab Emirates on November 15.
Pooled in Group ‘A’ where Nepal will face four Division-I teams in Afghanistan, the Netherlands, Scotland and Kenya making it a group of death. Nepal will also meet Papua New Guinea and Bermuda in the tournament where the top six teams will book 2014 ICC World Twenty20 to be held in Bangladesh.
Nepal will meet Kenya on November 16 at the same venue. After a rest day, Nepal will meet Scotland at GCA 2 on November 18 before playing Papua New Guinea a day later at the Sharjah Stadium. The Netherlands will be Nepal’s next opponents at the Sharjah Stadium and after another rest day, they will meet Associate archrivals Afghanistan at the same venue. The team will wrap up the league stage with a match against Bermuda at the GCA 1 on November 23.
Nepal will also play two warm-up matches against the United States of America on November 12 and UAE the next day. Group ‘A’ comprises of Ireland, Uganda, Hong Kong, USA, Namibia, UAE, Canada and Italy. Top three teams from each group will advance to the playoffs.
